Comments: This course may not be taken for credit concurrently with ECON 1011 and/or ECON 1012, or after successfully completing ECON 1011 and/or ECON 1012 with a course grade of C- or higher. Although no minimum score is required, to be able to register for ECON 1001, students must take the ALEKS math placement exam. Students who started at the university Fall 2023 or later need a proctored ALEKs exam score. Permission of the instructor is required for students who have an ALEKS score of 61 or higher, who have taken AP Microeconomics or Macroeconomics in high school or who have already taken a Calculus course. The exam can be accessed at: For additional information on the placement exam see URL below. Also register for one discussion section ECON 1001, Sections 30-41.
