Comments: The challenges to defining "mental health" are numerous. As a concept, it remains as elusive as it appears to be necessary, for policy makers, for instance, not to mention clinicians and those they serve. The course engages with the societal and scientific stakes of past and present challenges (from anti-psychiatry, mad pride, neurodiversity, body positivity, and other social movements) to narrow conceptualizations of mental health and well-being.
