Develop subject knowledge and a critical understanding of fashionable dress as well as theoretical and methodological approaches to using primary and secondary sources to analyse fashionable dress. Engage with and be aware of critical theories and theorists in dress and cultural studies. (Learning Outcome: Analysis—Critical Thinking)
2. Identify and describe fashionable dress and corresponding 'fashions' in culture that form an integral part of the visual, performing, and literary arts. To this end, you will be able to use a variety of visual materials to effectively communicate ideas (Learning Outcome: Perspective— Cross-Cultural)
3. Outline and understand various dress practices as a communicative medium from the Bronze age through to the twentieth century and today (Learning Outcome: Perspective—Cross-Cultural)
