Develop subject knowledge and a critical understanding of dress as well as theoretical and methodological approaches to using primary and secondary sources to analyse dress. Engage with and be aware of critical theories and theorists in dress and cultural studies. (Learning Outcome: Analysis—Critical Thinking) 2. Identify and describe dress as a global art form and as an integral part of the visual, performing, and literary arts. To this end, you will be able to use a variety of visual materials to effectively communicate ideas (Learning Outcome: Perspective— Cross-Cultural) 3. Outline the definition of dress as body modifications and body supplements that have meaning within a specific cultural context and understand how the meaning of dress varies from society to society and its interrelationship to specific physical and social environments. Think and write critically about global dress practices and culture by arguing a position and supporting it with researched evidence and primary sources.
