During this session participants receive a fire prevention overview. Later, our team provides each participant performs a demo to practice putting out a real fire with a fire extinguisher. Come join the fun and learn a lot about how to stay fire safe at work and at home.
All GW employees whose who have exposure to hazardous materials in a laboratory setting on GW campuses should take this course (includes undergraduate and graduate students). This course covers Biosafety, Chemical Hygiene, Disposal of Hazardous Waste, and Fire Safety in a laboratory setting. A review of the different kinds of personal protective equipment (PPE) used in laboratories is provided. Attendees learn about the physical symptoms of exposure, and how to respond to an emergency situation in a laboratory (e.g., a spacheill, fire, etc.).
